Waving the flag at the Bull

We were conned.

Rumor had that the owner of Red Bull was in town. He was looking for an agency.

We were called and asked if we would like to do a company capability presentation for him with the possibility of getting the Red Bull account.

Honestly we had everyone on fire in seconds

A company presentation meant digging out everything we had done which was Uber cool, dynamic and fun, and really really worked. We had to prove ourselves

We knew he was practical and so rich we all thought he would turn up in a Ferarri. We had our noses flattened to the windows.

He didn’t.

He came with two stunningly gorgeous account women which of course we pretended not to notice, behind our professional veneer. A strong looking man in pin striped suit accompanied them.

He, ‘The Mr Red Bull’ from Austria was casually dressed, not sure why he would have needed a suit. The thing I noticed was he was so tall, very relaxed and exuded a confidence.

We ushered them into the office crowding out the back of the room with staff, and went through our creative.

Clients like TESCO, and an airline, and a bank.

He looked really interested in a glazed eyes kind of way.

The women looked haughtily at us.

They clapped and squeezed our hands warmly at the end said how terrific we were.

“We will be in touch, lets talk soon”

Our team slumped to the walls and grabbed coffees.

“Wow. In a week huh”

Ten days went past and nothing.

Ten more days and nothing.

Then we heard they had already chosen their agency, they just wanted to check the competition.

They did it so well.
